Our work

Using images to show kids they belong in the classroom.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that gives diverse visual downloads to teachers for free through our website. The walls of our education spaces and the media content used in lesson plans are also teachers in the classroom. They teach our kids that they belong in the space. We are expanding not just their academic identity, but building inclusion within their community.

Vision

Our vision is to bring PicDiversity media to every American classroom to expand the potential children and youth believe they can achieve.

Mission

Collaborate with teachers, artists, and students to create diverse instructional media content and provide it to educators for free classroom use.

Our story

Founder Rachel Hanley created the company in 2015 after a Kindergarten teacher told her she could not find images that looked like her kids for her classroom. Since then, the nonprofit has grown to provide images, illustrations, and videos to teachers in every state reaching over 180,000 students/year.
